RECOGNITION AWARD

 

John Burpo, director of the National Coalition of Public Safety within the CWA. Burpo was a founder of TPOA and AZCOPS. AZCOPS dedicated a conference room in the Phoenix Office in his name.

 

PERSEVERANCE AWARDS 


Nogales Police Officers Association President Oscar Rosas 

The Nogales City Council took away meet and confer, payroll deduction, reprimanded the POA President for talking at a Council meeting. The Mayor passed away, the Council was recalled and one Council member switched sides. Today, the POA and the Council have a good working relationship. 
 

     

Marana Police Officers Association President Bill Derfus

In the midst of a battle with administration over coercive management practices by the Chief and Assistant Chief, AZCOPS conducted a job satisfaction survey. Today, Marana has a new City Manager, Chief of Police and Assistant Chief.
